Memorial service for Lee Freemont Adams, 102, will be today, Saturday, September 13, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Good News Assembly Church of God in Alexandria with the Rev. Danny Sanders officiating. Graveside service will be at a later date. Mr. Adams died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital. Lee is survived by his wife, Pauline and her two children; his sons, Daniel Adams, of Oxford and Ray Adams, of Dracut, Mass.; a daughter-in-law Eileen Adams, of Scarborough; five grandchildren, Ellis Adams and his wife Patti, of Seattle, Wash., Dale Stair and her husband Michael, of Yarmouth, Jeffrey Adams and his wife Julie, of Scarborough, Rhonda Henrichsen and her husband Phil of Magnolia, Texas, Scott Adams and Heather Bilodeau, of Scarborough; Also six great- grandchildren, Parker Stair, Dustin Adams, Darren Adams, Tyler Adams, Jacci Adams, and Shane Adams. Lee was born on November 7, 1911 in Cumberland Center to Henry and Cecil (Wilson) Adams. Lee spent the greatest part of his life in various locations in Maine, but had been residing in Alabama in recent years. Lee had many careers in his long life from driving oil transport and grocery trucks, to owner of a Red & White grocery store in Cumberland, a sawmill operation, a lumber and building materials business and a timber harvesting and logging operation. His passion though, was enjoying the Maine outdoors, from deer hunting to partridge, pheasant, dove, duck and goose hunting. He loved fresh water fishing of any kind whether lakes or streams and just enjoyed catching fish regardless of size. He also did some muskrat trapping in his earlier years. Lee was preceded in death by two brothers, Belmont and Francis Adams; his son, Lee Adams Jr. and his grandson Lee Adams III. Online condolences to the family at www.klbrownfuneralhome.com. K.L.
