The funeral service for Lee H. Holder, 95, of Jacksonville, will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Jacksonville Church of Christ with Glenn Colley, Blake Nicholas, Scotty Sparks, Allen Webster, and Brandon Renfroe officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until the service hour on Friday at the church. Mr. Holder passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Holder was a member of the Jacksonville Church of Christ. He was a WWII Naval veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnia Duncan Holder; his parents, John F. and Addie Holder and siblings, Wesley Holder, Chester Holder, Clifford Holder, Bevar Harrelson, Ed Holder, John Shelton Holder, Mildred Clements, Claudine Buchanan, J.P. Holder and Mary Helen Holder. He is survived by his daughters, Cindy Colley (Glenn), Sami Nicholas (Blake), and Celine Sparks (Scotty); his son, John Holder; nine grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and another due in April; sister-in-law, Lois Lyon and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Caleb Colley, Abel Nicholas, Job Nicholas, Abram Sparks, Enoch Sparks, and Grat Tucker. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Horton, Blake Hamm, Robert Box, Doug Rich, Homer Smith, Ben Vick and Chance Hicks. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a scholarship fund at the West Huntsville church Of Christ, at 1519 Old Monrovia Road NW, Huntsville, AL 35806. Please earmark donation for the Mr. and Mrs. Lee Holder Scholarship Fund at Freed Hardeman University. Mr. Holder was called "Piedaddy" by his nine grandchildren, Caleb Colley (Rebekah) and Hannah Giselbach (Ben), Abel (Michelle), Song and Job Nicholas, and Abram, Mattiane, Miriam and Enoch Sparks. All of them adored his playful spirit and unique sense of humor. He always pointed them to the Lord, and was especially proud of his "greats", Ezra and Colleyanna Giselbach.
