A graveside service for Lenora E. White, 86, was held Monday, July 7, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Brantley, with the Rev. Edwin Hayes officiating, K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jacksonville directed service. Mrs. White died Friday, July 4, 2014 at Grace Senior Living in Douglasville, GA. She is survived by two sons, James E. McLendon and his wife Rita of Douglasville, GA and Stephen D. McLendon and his wife Janice of Jacksonville; two step sons, Gene White of Washington and Charlie White; a step daughter, Martha Larson of Nebraska; six grandchildren, James M. McLendon, Brandi Coleman, Joel McLendon, Stephanie Morey, Jeremy McLendon and Josh McLendon; 13 greatgrandchildren and a brother, Tom Edwards of Jackson. Mrs. White was a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville where she served as librarian for many years. She received her MA degree from JSU in library science and taught school at DeArmanville Junior High. She also taught and was librarian at Eastwood School in Jacksonville and White Plains High School. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. White; four sisters, Sibylla Hayes, Joyce Stewart, Sophronia Dyar and Vangel Richardson and a brother, Joseph Edwards. Memorials may be made to the , 225 N.
