A memorial service for Mr. Leonard Edward Ward, 64, of Anniston, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with the Reverend Joseph Ward and Chaplain Jim Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. Mr. Ward went to meet his Lord and Savior on November 2, 2014. Mr. Ward worked for 14 years in security at NE Alabama Regional Medical Center and retired after 13 years at WalMart in Oxford. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Mr. Ward is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Lucille Ward; a brother, Doug Ward; a brother-in-law, Doug McDonald and a nephew, Rodney Comer. Mr. Ward is survived by his sons, Robert Ward and his wife, Audra, of Burleson, Texas, Joseph Ward and his wife, Andrea, of Arlington, Texas and Michael Ward, of Vance, Ala.; grandchildren, Anthony Ward, Liberty Ward, Justice Ward, Megan Ward and Destiny Ward; two sisters, Peggy McDonald, of Anniston and Joyce Comer and her husband, Earl, Leonard's special brother-in-law, of Oxford; a brother, Marvin Ward, of Oxford; a sister-in-law, Pat Ward, of Anniston and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the , 1100 Ireland Way, Suite 101, Birmingham, AL 35205 (www.cancer.org).
