Funeral service for Mr. Leroy "Buddy" Shears, 80, will be at 2 p.m. today, August 1, 2017 at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with the Reverend Dr. Bill Snow and the Reverend Garry Burns officiating. Committal service will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Shears passed away on July 29, 2017 at his home. Mr. Shears attended Edgewood Congregational Methodist Church. He served his country with honor in the United States Navy from 1955-1959. Mr. Shears loved life, his wife, and his family. He also loved sports including hunting, fishing and especially Alabama Football. Mr. Shears is preceded in death by his father, Troy L. Shears and his mother, Eddie Mae Shears-Edwards. He is survived by his wife, Delois Warmack Shears; daughters, Teresa Glass (Judson) and Donna Smith (Geoff); son, Gary Shears (Rhonda); grandchildren, Chris Angles, Jamie Angles Houston, Leia Tenney; Kayla Stephens, and Jacob Shears; five great-grandchildren; sister, Brenda Holmes; brothers, William Gene Shears and Jimmy Shears (Sharon), and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Chris Angels, Jacob Shears, Devin Stephens, Barry Craig, Benny Holderfield, and Leon Holderfield. Online condolences may be made to the family at K.L.
