Funeral service for Lillian Harrell Landers, 91, was Monday, May 1, 2017, 2 p.m. at DeArmanville United Methodist Church. The family received friends on Monday from 1 p.m. until service time at the church. Mrs. Landers passed away on April 28, 2017 at 6:05 PM. She was born in Blount County and lived in Calhoun County most of her life. She was a member of DeArmanville United Methodist Church for over 60 years and was the oldest member. In her younger years, she taught Sunday school and M.Y.F. She was also a Cub Scout leader. She was employed at Linen Thread for over 50 years and retired at the age of 75. Survivors include her children, Andy and Linda Landers; grandchildren, Jeremy and Krystal Landers, Renee Landers; great-grandchildren, Samantha Landers Bias (Michael); daughter-in-law, Yolanda Munn; sisters, Rebecca (Ertis) Freeman, Rachael (Rogers) Cobb; sister-in-law, Marilyn Harrell, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ertis (Bill) Landers; her two sons, Ernie and Stanley; sisters, Shirley Harrell and Mildred Cunningham; brothers, Wallace and Jerry Harrel. Mrs. Landers nephews will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Landers was known to her family as a dedicated Christian lady who loved the Lord and was a faithful prayer warrior. She was the glue that held her family together, with the support of Christ, her rock. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Landers desire was that donations be made to DeArmanville United Methodist Church.
