A funeral service for Mrs. Lola Faye Glenn, 89, will be today May 10, 2016 at noon at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with the Rev. William Strickland and the Rev. Raymond Horton officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Glenn died on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at her residence. She is survived by her two sons, Lamar (Shirley) Trantham, of Conyers, Ga. and James Robert (Debbie) Glenn, of Jacksonville; her daughter, Brenda F. (Terry) Dyer, of Wellington; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Dewitt (Nancy) Doss, of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ellis Hudgins, Rodney Glass, Chris Trantham, Kevin Trantham, Jason Trantham and Christian Mathews. Mrs. Glenn was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County and a member of Jacksonville Congregational Holiness Church for many years. She loved being outdoors working in her yard and planting flowers. Mrs. Glenn was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who never met a stranger. She was a wonderful cook and loved feeding people, allowing anyone to be welcome at her table. Mrs. Glenn was known for finding the good in everyone and taking care of those she loved and cared about. She will deeply missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Glenn was preceded in death by her parents, John F. and Lizzie Whitley Doss; her husband, James, W. Glenn Jr.; one granddaughter, Stephanie Sams Horton; and several brothers and sisters. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Renea Sams and Peggy Foster for their continued loving care and support and also to Amedysis Hospice for all they have done to make this a peaceful time of transition for the Glenn family.
