Funeral service for Mr. Lonnie P. Lindley, 94, will be on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Oxford with Pastor Scott Smith officiating. The family will receive friends on the same day from 9 until the time of the service. Burial will follow the service at Forestlawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Lindley passed away on March 26, 2016 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his son, Lloyd Lindley and his wife, Paula; grandchildren, Carol Gerin Ledford, Brian Lindley and Tracy Pope; great- grandchildren, Julie Gerin, Elijah Pope, Sky Lindley, Tori Pope, Levi Pope, Trinity Pope and Lonie Pope; great-great- grandchildren, Alayna Smelley and Alisyn Smelley; siblings, Cecil Lindley, Vassar Sellers, Genelle Whitt, Ilene Barney. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Lindley; parents, James Pierce and Lettie Lipham Lindley and his sister, Bessie Kitchens. Pallbearers will be Brian Lindley, Keith Pope, Elijah Pope, Levi Pope, Darryl Ledford and Dustin Smelley. Mr. Lindley was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He is a Navy Veteran who served proudly in World War II. He was a member if the Hartwell 101 Masonic Lodge.
