Louie Edmond Sutherlin, 91, passed away Tuesday May 17, 2016. Mr. Sutherlin is preceded in death by his parents, Louie E. Sutherlin Sr. and Anna Bell Sutherlin; his daughter, Grace "Cissy" Elizabeth Carnes; and stepson, Randall Curtis Crockett. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Crockett, of Bynum; son, Louie "Mac" Sutherlin (Janice), of Eastaboga; step-children, David (Sue) Crockett, Chattanooga, Tenn., Beth Crockett, of Norcross, Ga., Stanley Crockett, of Bynum; grandchildren, Jason (Deana) Sutherlin, Joseph Sutherlin, Grace (Matt) Ogle and Megan (Landon) Holley; step-grandchildren, David Crockett Jr., Matthew Crockett, Nathan Crockett, Lindsey (Mike) Olsin, Paige (John) Reinhard, Maggie Estrada, Heather (Johnny) Glynn, Eric Ludecke; seven great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Karen Crockett, Howard and Helen Goodwin. Louie grew up in Gadsden, Ala. and had lived in the Anniston area since 1950. He attended Snead College, Jacksonville State University, and the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, the Retired Officers Club-Fort McClellan and the Anniston Quarterback Club. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific in WWII and then the Navy Reserve, Air Force Reserve and Army Reserve for forty years. He retired from Anniston Army Depot after thirty years of service.
