Graveside service for Lydia Pearl Sanford Hulsey, 100, will be today, August 20, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Piedmont Memory Gardens with Mr. Gary McCurdy officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 - 2:45 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home. Mrs. Hulsey passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 in Hazel Green. Survivors include her daughter, Bettina Williams (Woodrow), of Hazel Green; two grandchildren, Amanda Jan Williams, of Rochester Hills, Michigan, and Haden Pace Williams (Rebecca), of Huntsville; one great-grandson, Parker Lake Williams, of Huntsville; one sister, Sarah Shew, of Marietta, Georgia; one brother, Paul Sanford, of Melvindale, Michigan; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Randall Wood, Rodney Wood, Pace Sanford, Perry Sanford, Lance Rankin and Jerry Wooten. Mrs. Hulsey was a longtime resident of Piedmont and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She retired from Standard Coosa Thatcher with 40 years of service, loved sports, enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and was an Auburn fan. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin Hulsey.
