Graveside service for Mrs. Madura Haynes Brown, 70, will be held Friday, January 29, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Brown Family Cemetery with the Rev. Dorothy Ann Webster officiating. Mrs. Brown passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Clay County Hospital. She was born in Talladega County but had been a resident of Clay County most of her life. She was a 1964 graduate of Clay County High School. Prior to her retirement she had been employed at Bemis Brothers, Higgins Mfg., Tyson and Robinson Mfg. She attended Mt. Moriah Christian Church. Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert Brown, of Ashland; three daughters, Rita Ann Easterwood, of Hackneville, Neati Faye Yarbrough (Jake Crew), of Alexander City and Sally Jane Turley (Eric), of Ashland; two sons, James Robert Brown (Carie), of Pell City and Sherman Joseph Brown, of Ashland; two sisters, Louneal Clutter (Jim), of Hanceville and Jane Willis, of Talladega; one brother, Virgil Sanford Haynes (Hilda), of Hawaii; ten grandchildren, Amanda Powell, Stormy Green, Daveen Mae Turley, David Kale Turley, Robert Brown, Katelyn Brown, Mattie Lee Brown, Kurtis Brown, Marshall Brown and Carson Brown; 3 step-grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman Stonewall Haynes and Maude Alma Hall Haynes; two sisters, Dimple Sparks and Alma Weldon; four brothers, A. G. Haynes, Sherman Hall Haynes, Clarence Langdon Haynes and Jessie Clyde Haynes and one grandson, Phillip Shane Willis. Serving as pallbearers for Mrs. Brown will be Jacky Brown, Jacky Brown Jr., Bobby Lynn Brown, Harold Bishop, John Ervin Jones and Reina Brown. The family will receive friends this evening from 5 - 8 at the funeral home. Clay County Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements
