Funeral service for Mancel P. Johnson, 73, will be Sunday, March 1, 2015, at 3 p.m. at Goshen United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joe DeWitte officiating. Burial will follow at Goshen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 - 3 p.m. at the church. Mr. Johnson passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Jim Johnson, of Goshen; one son, Phillip Johnson (Jeanne'), of Guntersville; two sisters, Patricia Jennings (Buck), of Rock Run and Walala Woods, of Goshen and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Davis Acker, David Rhinehart, Marcus Woods, Phil New, Larry Cronan and George "G" Scroggin. Mr. Johnson was a lifelong resident of Goshen and was a graduate of Spring Garden High School. He retired from M&H Valve in Anniston and sang with the Pristige Quartet.
