Funeral service for Mrs. Margaret Bailey Pugliese, 65, will be Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Delta Baptist Church with the Rev. Turk Holt officiating. Burial will follow in the Delta Community Cemetery. Born May 25, 1949 in Osaka, Japan, Margaret Bailey Pugliese traveled and lived across the country as a child of the US Army. Her family settled finally in Miami, Florida. Margaret graduated in 1967 from Miami Coral Park High School. Her favorite summers were those spent in Delta, Ala. with her beloved aunts and cousins. As an adult she started work as a legal secretary in Miami, Fla. and then became a paralegal. Her greatest accomplishment in life is her daughter, Jenni, born October 5, 1980. Her pride beams from every photograph and story told of her child. Margaret moved to Jacksonville to live near her best friend Linda. She then returned to Central Florida to be near her mother, Geneva and her sisters, Mary and Nancy. Her bond with her mother, sisters and nieces was a beautiful relationship shared amongst special women. She worked for the Polk County Sheriff's Office, FL for 12 years and retired to live in what she described as God's country, Delta, Ala. She worked for three years at Cheaha Mental Health and two years with the Clay County Sheriff's Office as a corrections officer. She thanked God each day for the blessings in her life and always had time for her friends and family. She shared her life with her husband of 26 years, Tony. The Lord took Margaret home on Saturday, November 15, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar H. Bailey and Geneva Jones Bailey. She is survived by her husband, Anthony Pugliese; daughter, Jenni Newcomb Coba and husband, Josh; sisters Mary Roberts (Kenny) and Nancy Bailey; nieces Kimberley, Jessica, and Amanda; three great-nephews, and numerous cousins. She touched so many lives along her life's path. She accepted Jesus as her Savior as a child and was a member of Delta Baptist Church. Her loss has left pain in our hearts and she will forever be cherished. Pallbearers will be Gerald Dial, Jason Dial, Joshua Coba, Chan Stone, Sam Jones, Kenny Roberts and Luke Webb. The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville on tonight, November 19, 2014 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. Send online condolences to www.benefieldfuneralhome.com.
