Funeral service for Marion Bryant O'Kelley, 95, will be 3 p.m., Sunday, August 16, 2015, at First Baptist Church of Saks with Dr. Randy Postell and the Rev. Darrel Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Crook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until service time at the church. Mrs. O'Kelley passed away Thursday at her residence. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Medders (Don); son-in-law, Roger McPhail (Linda); grandchildren, Stanley Medders (Donna), Janet Bankston, Sherrie Jones (Steve), Rodney McPhail (Sara), Sean McPhail and Darren McPhail (Jen); sisters, LoGene Scott (J.B.), Ann Boyd (Jerry), Judy Epperson (Ray); brother, Milton Bryant; eight great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. O'Kelley is preceded in death by her husband, Troy O'Kelley; daughter, Melda McPhail; father, William Allen Bryant (Millie Ruth); mother, Maude Bryant; brothers, Lamar Bryant, Alton Bryant and Albert "Bud" Bryant. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Mrs. O'Kelley was a native of Ohatchee, a member of Oak Bowery Baptist, Gladeview and First Baptist Church of Saks where she enjoyed being an active member. She also wrote short stories, one of which was "Heflin Jo," and enjoyed learning about the history of Ohatchee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Saks.
