Funeral service for Marlene Cheatwood, 79, will be Sunday, May 15, 2016, 2 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home. The Rev. Randy Hagan and Pastor Michael Cox will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Plum Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 till 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Cheatwood passed away on Thursday at her home after a long illness with COPD. Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda (Johnny) Curvin; son, Steve (Deb) Lambert; grandchildren, Amber (Jason) Starr, Charissa Lambert, Rebecca (Chad) Usrey and Samantha (Jordan) Ford; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold Jennings and Curtis Jennings; sisters, Lanier Adams and Joyce Jett; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Chad Usrey, Johnny Gauldin, Joe Jennings, Larry Jennings, Wayne Sims, Sammy Curvin, Michael Jett and Jordan Ford. Mrs. Cheatwood was a seamstress for over 20+ years. She was an avid baker of cakes for all occasions. Mrs. Cheatwood was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She was a swim instructor at the YMCA for water aerobics. Mrs. Cheatwood had a love for doing crafts. Most of all she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and a friend. The family would like to say thank you to Southern Care Hospice and all the medical personal that contributed to her care.
