Mrs. Martha Baker, 81, passed away Monday, November 3, 2014, at Redmond Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. today at Cedar Bluff First Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 12 p.m. until the hour of the service. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers include; Chum Baker, Reb Baker, Mark Baker, Rex Johnson, Carl Johnson, Claiborne Morris, Tim Harton, Tommy Lee and Myron Wilson. Survivors include sons, Robert Daniel Baker, of Cedar Bluff and Ivan Hayne Baker, of Birmingham; daughters, Anita Lee Baker Jones, of Schnecksville, Pa. and Martha Lisa Baker of Willingboro, N.J.; sister, Sara Daniel Johnson, of Centre; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Baker. Mrs. Baker was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late Earl Eugene Daniel and Iva Lucille Smith Daniel Broom. She was retired as Director of Data Processing at Gadsden Regional Hospital. She served as Mayor of Cedar Bluff and was a member of Cedar Bluff First United Methodist Church.
