The graveside service for Ms. Martha Cleo Hancock, 96, will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Forestlawn Gardens. Ms. Hancock passed away on October 19, 2016 at her home. Ms. Hancock was born in Cleburne County into a family of six children. She went to work on the family farm at an early age to help support her family. She later worked at Dewberry Engraving for close to 10 years then went to work for Hancock Fabrics. She retired from Hancock in 1990 after over twenty years of service. Following retirement, she spent many hours working in her flower garden and also working for her sister in the produce department of McCord Grocery. Ms. Hancock was also a faithful member of Fairview Church of Christ. Ms. Hancock is preceded in death by her parents, William Barney Strickland and Leola Pate Strickland; an infant daughter; Shelby Jean Hancock; a son; Mike Hancock; sisters, Reba Ingram and Shirley McCord and brothers, Lenois Strickland and Clinton Strickland. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Feltman, of Anniston and Patty Wright, of Athens; a son, David Hancock, of Trussville; grandchildren, Tina, Matt, Stacy, Shelaine, Shaneon, Titus, Nathan, Amy and Eric; great-grandchildren, Hazel, Simon, Kai, Mia, Hannah, Colton, Clarissa, Blair, Kailyn, Madelyn, Mason and Malin; a brother, J.B. "Red" Strickland and fourteen nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Nathan and Titus Wright, Tony Anders and Matt Hancock.
