Martha Crocker Shepard, 91, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014, in Piedmont. Mrs. Shepard was a native of Nashville, Tenn. and had been a resident of Piedmont for the past 13 years. She attended the First United Methodist Church of Piedmont and retired from South Central Bell. She had served as a Pink Lady at Jacksonville Hospital in past years and also had been a volunteer at the Piedmont Welcome Center. Mrs. Shepard is survived by two daughters, Barbara Rodriguez, of Nashville, Tenn. and Lynda Ward, of Piedmont; three grandchildren, Jimmy Rodriguez, Jamie Prince and Nikki Ward; three great-grandchildren, Ashley Maner Hairrell, Kaysie Rutledge O'Brien and Nickolas Glover; one great-great-grandchild, Abigail Hairrell; one brother, Bill Sanders and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Crocker; parents, Rose and Ervin Sanders; two sisters, Dot Ernst and Rosemary Wolfe; two brothers, Robert Sanders and Samuel Sanders. www.thompsonfuneralhomepiedmont.com
