Funeral service for Martha D. Veasley, 95, will be on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul C.M.E. Church Pastor Steven Davis officiating and the Rev. William Haynes as eugloyist. Interment will follow in Jacksonville City Cemetery. Mrs. Veasley passed away on January 13, 2015. Mrs. Veasley's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to her service. Survivors include her children, Thomas Parker Sr., Lenn T. (Carolyn) Vealsey, Benjamin T. (LaConyea) Veasley, Eula Mae Salter and Louise Veasley, all of Jacksonville; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; sister, Annie M. Keller; a host of other relatives and friends. She also mothered eight Boozer children; eight Patterson children and two Mathis children and many in the community. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pledge and Ida Parker; husband, Robert Taylor Veasley; siblings, Paul, Ernest and Mildred; children, Corn Ann Snow and Robert Veasley Jr.; grandchildren, Naressa Veasley, Jalenn Veasley and Trey Parker.
