Martha Ray Hubbard, 78, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and best friend died January 21, 2014, at Lane Medical Center in Zachary, La. after a brief illness. She was a long time resident of Zachary, La. and native of Cherokee County, Alabama. Burial will be in Anniston. Funeral was held in Zachary, La. with a grave site service at Forestlawn Gardens in Golden Springs at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2014. She is survived by children, Johnny and Janette Hubbard, Larry and Pam Hubbard, and Angela Hubbard; grandchildren, Katie and Zach Cordell, Kyle and Amy Hubbard, Grace Hubbard, Ben Hubbard, Zoe Hubbard;' great-grandchildren, Annabella Gibbs, Beckett Cordell, Jane Cordell and Andrew Cordell; numerous nieces and nephews; in-laws, Mary and Bill Nichols, Steve and Carolyn Wallace, McNeil Kent , Gail Hubbard and Wanda Ray. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Hubbard. She was a member of Zachary Community Church and she served as a "Pink Lady" at Lane Medical Center. She was an avid gardener and reader. Martha was the last surviving sibling of David and Lillie Ray. Her 8 siblings produced 20 children and numerous grandchildren. Martha's husband Benny, was the oldest son of Walter and Gladys Hubbard of Anniston. Benny's 3 siblings produced 5 children and numerous grandchildren.
