Funeral service for Martis W Robinson, 80, a native of Oxford will be on Friday, January 9, 2015, 11 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home. Bishop Price will be officiating. The burial will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on today from 5- 7 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home. Mr. Robinson passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 in the home of his daughter and son in law. Survivors include sons, Tim Robinson (LeeAnn), Mark Robinson (Dawn); daughters, Nancy Tillman (Randy), Shannon Jackson (Ken); sons, Tommy Robinson (Amber), Johnny Robinson (Leigh); brother, Billy Robinson; sister in law, Addie Mae Robinson; grandchildren, Matt, Rachel and Hope Robinson, Ashley, Brooke and Kendal Robinson, Bryan (Erika) Tillman, Derek Tillman, Roxie (Brandon) Ferguson, Bailey Jackson, Jacob Herndon, Phillip Jackson, Wil Jackson, Randa Herndon, and Laura Ann Jackson, Gage Robinson, Noah Robinson, Addison and Gavin Robinson, Chase Clay, Emma Robinson, Cole Clay, Avery Robinson and Knox Robinson. Pallbearers will be Ronald Robinson, Allen Robinson, Leon Robinson, Phillip Teel Jr, Tony Robinson, Keith Robinson, and Greg Robinson, Honorary Pallbearer will be Sam Massey Sr. Mr. Robinson was born in Cleburne County. He was a Korean War veteran. Mr. Robinson was a retired Georgia Educator of 37 years. Mr. Robinson was also a basketball coach. He was an avid duck hunter. Mr. Robinson passion was traveling. He was a loyal member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter - Day Saints. Mr. Robinson graduated from Jacksonville State University with a Bachelor Degree in education and received his Master's Degree from the University of Georgia. Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by parents, Tom and Roxie Robinson; grandsons, Roy Robinson, Blake Tillman; brothers, Buford Robinson, Bernard Robinson; sister, Nina Hendrix; brother, Doyle Robinson; sister, Eva Teel; brothers, Ottis Robinson, Curtis Robinson, and Coyce Robinson. The family will be having a Celebration of Life for Mr. Robinson on today January 8, 2015 from 6-10 p.m. at the Hampton Inn in the meeting room.
