Funeral services for Mr. Marvin J. Bible, 91, of Anniston, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with the Reverend Alan Jenkins and Tim Rollins officiating. Interment will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Bible passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014. He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Dessie Mae Bible; parents, Claude J. and Minnie Lee Bible; sister, Velma Slaton; brothers, Ollie Bible, Lester Bible, J.C. Bible, Leon Bible, and Verdis Bible. Mr. Bible retired from Blue Mountain Industries after 44 years of service as a machine operator. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church #2. Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jerry Wayne Lindley, Eddie Lindley, Gerald Huddleston, Cleophas Bearden, Austin Norton and Kermit White. The family would like to thank New Beacon Hospice and his sitters, Barbara Keith and Amy Wernicke. Online condolences may be made to the family at K.L.
