Funeral service for Marvin Pruitt Jr. "Junior", 73, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Acker and the Rev. Alan Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 at Chapel Hill. Mr. Pruitt passed away Sunday at his home surrounded by his loving family. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Pruitt, of Ohatchee; two daughters, Brandy Spurling (Grady) and Tammy Pruitt Cash (Roger); four sons, Carl Pruitt (Lily), Terry Pruitt (Dana), Chris Pruitt (Mickey) and Brad Dunn; three sisters, Dorothy Thomas, Jewell Warren and Kay Batchelor; one brother, James Pruitt; 15 grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Pruitt was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Levie Pruitt; sisters, Francis McGlaughn and Louis Acker. Pallbearers will be Dennis Hodge, David Body, Charles Smith, Tim Hooper, Richard Gaines and Lee Nolan. Mr. Pruitt was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County and lived the majority of his life in the Ohatchee area. He was a member of Mamre Baptist Church. He loved spending time fishing and playing with his great-grandson, Kylen. He will be greatly missed by everyone. Online condolences made at www.chapelhillfh.com
