Marvin Thompson, 78, of Nashville, by way of Weaver, Ala., left this world on April 8, 2014 to join his wife Betty, of 54 years, in heaven. He is preceded in death by his brother, Gene Thompson. He is survived by his son, Chuck (Sandy) Hughes; daughter, Vickie (Steve) Pippin; grandchildren, Samuel Hughes, Taylor Gadd and Spencer Gadd; brothers, James, Charles, Donald and David Thompson; sister, Joyce Shulman, as well as a host of extended family and friends. Marvin was very proud of his career as a (retired) court officer of the Nashville Davidson County General Sessions Court. A memorial celebration of Marvin's life will be held Friday, April 11, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home - Nashville, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Health Wagon, P.O. Box 709, Clintwood, VA 24228.
