Funeral service for Mrs. Mary Alice Farmer, 90, will be today December 1, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with the Rev. Michael Hosch officiating. Burial will be in Williams Community Cemetery in Jacksonville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12-2 p.m. prior to the service on today. Mrs. Farmer went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 29, 2015. Mrs. Farmer is survived by her sons, Gary (Brenda) Farmer, of Piedmont, Ala. and Randall (Teresa) Farmer, of Jacksonville, Ala.; three grandchildren, Stephanie Lewis, Angie (Bobby) Ledbetter and Scotty (Donna) Smith; six great- grandchildren, Michael, Emily, Ethan, Kaylee, Jordan and Abbi; one great-great grandchild, Cason; sister, Gladys Angel, of Jacksonville; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be family members and friends. Mrs. Farmer was a member of Hatcher Avenue Baptist Church and loved attending church when she was able. She missed being able to go over the last several years, but her love for her Lord and Savior never wavered. In her spare time she enjoyed being outdoors, tending to her garden and her flowers. Mrs. Farmer was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother and sister and loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Farmer is preceded in death by her husband, William E. Farmer; her son, Larry Farmer; three brothers, Roscoe Johnston, Sargent Johnston and Judson Johnston; one sister, Dorothy McGinnis.
