Graveside service for Mary Alice Lacy, 96, will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Edgemont Cemetery with the Rev. William Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 at Gray Brown Service Mortuary. Mrs. Lacy passed away Tuesday following a lengthy illness. Survivors include her son, Roger Lacy (Velvet), of Hoover; her brother Frank Nichols (Lillian); grandchildren, Elise Magnolia (Peter), Bonnie Lacy, Natalie Lacy and Samantha Schmid; great- grandchildren, Aubriana Magnolia and Naomi Magnolia, and several nieces and nephews. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, James and Annie Nichols; her husband, John D. Lacy; her son, Harry Lacy, and brother, Thomas Nichols. Pallbearers will be friends and family. Mary worked at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital where she was loved by staff and patients. She retired from hospital work in 1985. She had a deep appreciation for flowers and was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Golden Springs from the time of its inception. After her husband died in 1997, she moved back to Bibb County with her son, Roger, where she rejoined the church of her childhood, Brent Baptist Church. Online Condolences at www.graybrownservice.com
