Services for Mary Amelia Stoffregen Hallman, 83, will be Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega. She passed away Sunday, December 31. Born April 17, 1934, Amelia was a native and lifelong resident of the Stockdale community in Talladega County. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Oxford. Amelia retired from Citizens Baptist Hospital in Talladega in 1995. A wonderful Christian lady who lived life to the fullest, Amelia was devoted to her family and had a huge heart that continued to grow with each new family member she added. Her smile could light up a room and her laughter could make any day brighter. Known by many names - Amelia, Mother, Mama, Sissy, Nanny - she was both mother and father to her two children whom she taught to love and follow God in words, music, and actions. She could watch I Love Lucy and The Andy Griffith Show or make silly photos on Snapchat with her great grandchildren. A lady who would give everything to her family, Amelia could not even "steal" a gift in Christmas games because she did not want to take a present from anyone else. Amelia is survived by daughter Kathy Stewart (Robert/Bob); son Craig Hallman (Anita); four grandchildren Ren Hallman (Ashley), Amanda Hill (Cam), Dana George (Greg), and Tina Jennings (Ray); ten great grandchildren - Camdyn Hill, Carson Hill, Cason Hallman, Ellie Cate Hallman, Peyton Edison (Dakota), Cory van Ekris, Noah George, Kiley Williamson, Holli Jennings, and Cody Jennings; and great, great granddaughter McKenzie Zachery. Amelia is preceded in death by her parents Levert and Mary Stoffregen and brothers Oscar Stoffregen and Roy Stoffregen. Pallbearers are Ray Jennings, Greg George, John Gillmore, Cory van Ekris, Rex Gaither, Cam Hill, and Kiley Williamson. Honorary pallbearers are Camdyn Hill, Carson Hill, and Noah George. Visitation is Wednesday, January 3, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Usrey Funeral Home. Online condolences may be offered at www.usreyfuneralhome.com Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega will be directing the services.
