Funeral service for Mrs. Mary Etta Norris, 88, will be held Sunday, March 6, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Bolinger and Dr. Daryl Woods officiating with burial to follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 12 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Norris passed on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at her home in Wellington. Mrs. Norris is survived by her daughters, Rita (James) Gardner and Robbie (Derek) Ball; son, Rick (Kay) Norris; brother, Bobbie Smith; grandchildren, Brent Ward, Chad Ward, Shay Vice, Stephany DeQueiroz, Misty Starkey and Sheivella Messick; great-grandchildren, Brandon Ward, Dylan Ward, Chase Ward, Amber Messick, Allie Ward, Mary Ward, Alex Keita, Ashlynne DeQueiroz, and Braxen and Lilly Starkey; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brent Wood, Chad Ward, Shay Vice, Stephany DeQueiroz and Misty Starkey. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandchildren. Mrs. Norris is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Norris. Mrs. Norris was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County, a member of Post Oak Baptist Church and a graduate of Alexandria High School. Mrs. Norris loved sewing for her children and grandchildren, cooking lemon pies and Honey-Bee Cakes and loved sharing them with her church family, friends and family.
