A funeral service for Mrs. Mary Frances Angel Hyde, 86, will be Sunday, April 24, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Angel Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Starling officiating. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 until 8 at the church. Burial will be in Seven Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Hyde died on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at her home. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, James C. Hyde, of Jacksonville; two daughters, Kay Griffin and her husband, Kenny and Lea Davis and her husband, Rick, all of Jacksonville; two sisters, Pauline Johnson and Betty Noah, both of Jacksonville; a brother, Eugene Angel and his wife Sue, of Jacksonville; a sister-in-law, Gladys Angel; six grandchildren, Matt (Katie) Griffin, Rebecka Griffin, Jordan Kittrell, Tara Kittrell, Drake Davis and Noah Davis; her best friend, Mary Jane Davis and her special Florida family, Danny and Ro Bryant, Mark, Heather and Ruby and Samuel Sultzman and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be her nephews and honorary pallbearers will be members of the Faith and Ruth Sunday School Classes. Mrs. Hyde was a member and Sunday School teacher at Angel Grove Baptist Church. She received her BS degree from Jacksonville State Teachers College in 1950 and her MA degree at JSU in 1977 and taught school from 1950 - 1987 at Oxford Elementary, Anette P. Edwins Elementary in Ft. Walton, FLa., Cedar Springs School and concluded her teaching career at Faith Temple. Her professional affiliations include the National Education Association, the Alabama Education Association and the Calhoun County Retired Teachers. She retired from the Calhoun County Board of Education with 38 years service and retired as a teacher in Cedar Springs. Her children, grandchildren and all of her former students were her pride and joy and she will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Ethel Angel; brothers and sister-in-law, Clytus and Dora Sue Angel and Roscoe Angel; her brothers-in-law, Clayton Johnson and Harold Noah and a niece, Dianne Johnson. The family extends a special thanks to Camelia Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
