Funeral service for Mrs. Mary Jo. Champion, 91, will be held Thursday, April 28, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. John Copeland and the Rev. Randy Postell officiating with burial to follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 this evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Champion passed peacefully Monday, April 25, 2016, at RMC in Anniston. Mrs. Champion is survived by her daughter, Patsy (Marvie) Gidley; son-in-law, Gary (Cheryl) Edmondson; sister, Frances Prickett; grandchildren, Katrina (Brandon) Robbins, Jonathan (Kristi) Gidley, Tracey (Stephen) Reeves and Kelly (Austin) Minter; great-grandchildren, Parker, Reese, Jon, Hannah, Andrew, Aaron, John Curtis, Emily and Raylan. Pallbearers will be Marvie Gidley, Gary Edmondson, Jonathan Gidley, Brandon Robbins, Stephen Reeves and Austin Minter. Mrs. Champion was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County, a member of First Baptist Church of Saks. She was a faithful wife, loving mother, grandmother and precious friend to all who knew her. Mrs. Champion is preceded in death by her husband, Ed Champion, and daughter, Brenda Edmondson. In lieu of flowers family request donation to be made to First Baptist Church of Saks Sound System. Condolences may be left at www.chapelhillfh.com
