Funeral service for Mrs. Mavis Steward Vinson, 85, will be held today, April 10, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. David Earl Vinson and Randy Bentley officiating with burial to follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be today at the funeral home from 12 p.m. until service time. Mrs. Vinson passed peacefully Friday, April 8, 2016, at RMC in Anniston. Mrs. Vinson is survived by her husband, the Rev. Charles David Vinson; sons, David Earl (Joan) Vinson and Rickey (Pam) Vinson; daughter, Keetha (Greg) Gann; grandchildren, Chasity (Jeff) Holsomback, Chad Vinson, David Earl Vinson Jr., Jenni (Clint) Curvin and Jacob (Carrie) Gann; great-grandchildren, Ashley (Tyler) Strawn, Austin Holsomback, Micah Holsomback, Dylan Vinson, Hunter Vinson, Chase Vinson, Luke Curvin, Brenlee Curvin and Bryson Gann; sister, Bobbie (John) Meads; brothers, Travis (Joyce) Steward and John (Karen) Steward. Pallbearers will be Jacob Gann, Clint Curvin, Chad Vinson, Jeff Holsomback, Craig Bentley and Jerre Vinson. Honorary pallbearer will be David Vinson Jr. Mrs. Vinson was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County and a member of Fairview Heights Northside Baptist Church in Anniston. She was a faithful wife, loving mother, grandmother and precious friend to all who knew her. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Tangie Horton, Wendy Gibb, Vickie Haynes, Barbara Rogers, Whitney Hurst and Brooke Watts. Mrs. Vinson is preceded in death by her parents, John Robert and Essie Steward; brothers, Curtis (Catherine) Steward, Robert E. (Betty) Steward and Arvil (Colleen) Steward.
