Funeral service for Max Newman will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time. Private burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife of 59 1/2 years, Bonna Newman; three sons, Alan, of Ocala, Fla., Robert (Leslie), of Bradenton, Fla. and Don (Tracee), of Orlando, Fla.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and two brothers, Herbert, of Bremen, Ga. and Wayne (Judy), of Jacksonville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters. Max was a member of Hill Crest Baptist Church for 20 years and a member of the Encourager Sunday School Class. He was an Army Veteran and retired from the Federal Prison Service. The family wishes to thank Amedisys Hospice for their excellent care.
