Service for Michael E. "Cookie" Cook, 66, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Eddie Lindsey officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Goshen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 1-2 p.m. Michael passed away Monday August 3, 2015, at his home. Survivors include three sisters, Sandra Keener (J.R.), Ellie Jo Morgan and Tammie Thompson (Jim); one brother, Barry Cook; his faithful and best friend, pepper; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Michael was a lifelong resident of Piedmont, a U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam veteran and retired from the Anniston Army Depot. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jo Cook; parents, Wesley and Billie Ruth Cook; two sisters, Rita Gayle Cook and Shirley Ann Minter; brother-in-law, Ronnie Morgan. www.thompsonfuneralhomepiedmont.com
