Memorial service for Michael Lee Stewart, 64, will be Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at 6 p.m. at Philadelphia Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. at the church. Mr. Stewart passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at his home. Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Sharon Thompson Stewart; two daughters, Carrie Stewart Bowen, of Gadsden and Lisa Smith (Gene), of Centre; three grandchildren, Kayleigh Smith, Jayden Bowen and Maddox Bowen; one brother, Shay Stewart (Kathy), of Piedmont; loyal friend, Bentley; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Stewart was a native and resident of Piedmont and was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and was a longtime employee of Bunk's and Norton's Express.
