A graveside service for Mrs. Mildred E. Dawson, 84, will be held Monday, February 9, 2015, at 4 p.m. at Forestlawn Gardens with the Rev. Jimmy Wilson officiating. A reception and celebration will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Church of the Good Shepherd. Mrs. Dawson passed away Friday, February 6, 2015, at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Dawson had been a resident of Anniston since 1954 and was a long time member of Church of the Good Shepherd. She enjoyed serving in the card ministry, sending birthday and Christmas cards to family and friends. Mrs. Dawson was a member of several bridge clubs in Anniston and she served as bookkeeper at Dawson Vision Center for 14 years. She dearly loved her family and friends and will be greatly missed. Mrs. Dawson was preceded in death by her husband, Pinson A. Dawson and a half brother, Fred Lawrence, of Anniston. Survivors include her sons, Rick Dawson and his wife, Pam and Larry Dawson and wife, Becky, all of Anniston; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Bradley and Mary Dawson and their daughter, Adilyn, of Weaver, Kristin Barnes and her husband, Brett and their daughter, Pallaus, of Saks. Pallbearers will be Lee Parnell, Bob Hyatt, John Carrozza, Jerry Harris, Richard Patty, and Darrell Morrison. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Church of the Good Shepherd, 461 Choccolocco Road, Anniston, AL 36207 or to , 1100 Ireland Way, Suite 101, Birmingham, AL 35205.
