Funeral service for Mrs. Mildred Fornwalt Gunnels, 88, will be at 2 p.m., Monday, May 8, 2017 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Jesse Barksdale officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Mrs. Gunnels passed away Friday afternoon at UAB hospital. She is survived by her children, Earl Gunnels (Carolyn), Jerry Gunnels (Freda) and Marty Gunnels Wade (Ricky); grandchildren, Sandy Wade Thompson (Jon), Adam Wade (Amanda), Sharr Russ (Rich), Chad Gunnels (Andrea), Sheena Plocharczyk (Lenny), Stacy Campbell, and Tracy Ramey; brother, Charles Fornwalt; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gunnels is preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Gunnels; parents, Ada and Griffith Fornwalt, and brothers, Huey Fornwalt, Herschel Fornwalt, and Griffith A. Fornwalt. Mildred (Sister) was a long time resident of Anniston. She enjoyed listening and watching the Wellborn Panthers football games and she also loved cooking and being with her family.
