Mildred Jones Hollis, 95, died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at her residence. Graveside service will be today at 1 p.m. at Chulafinnee Methodist Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Murray officiating. Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Dryden Funeral Home. Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Hollis Forney, of Heflin; grandchildren, Donna (Ray) Hollis Taylor, of Heflin, Charles Hollis, of Muscadine, Lee (Kim) Hollis, of Fruithurst, Ryan (Kara) Chandler, of Heflin, Paula Hollis Phelps, of Woodland, Shane (Ginger) Chandler, of Delta, and Meredith (Mike) Ferguson, of Chatham, Ill.; Former daughter-in-laws, Dorothy (Richard) Smith, of Heflin and Judy (Richard) Jones, of Fruithurst; 18 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hollis was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Pelham Hollis and sons, Gerald Caldwell Hollis and Charles Wayne Hollis. Pallbearers will be Ryan Chandler, Shane Chandler, Lee Hollis Charles Hollis, Nic Chandler and Ben Taylor. Mrs. Hollis was a member of Chulafinnee Baptist Church. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great- Grandmother. She enjoyed traveling, reading, cross word puzzles and was a wonderful cook.
