A celebration of life service for Mr. James Michael "Mike" Crossley, 66, will be held today, June 25, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Andy Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service. Mr. Crossley died on Thursday, June 22, 2017 surrounded by his family and friends. Mr. Crossley is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Shelbie Ann Crossley, of Ohatchee; two step-sons, Jerry Brown and Andy (Margie) Brown, all of Alexandria; four grandchildren, Cody (Shelby) Brown, of Alexandria, Ty Brown, of Alexandria, Ashley (Brandon) Moore, of Wellington, and Hannah Brown, of Alexandria; one great-grandson, Wacy Brown, of Alexandria; his brother, Lynn (Mary) Crossley, of Anniston; his sister, Carol (Jeff) Hockenberry, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister-in-law, Janet Keith, of Ohatchee, and several nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the East Alabama Shrine Club. Mr. Crossley was a lifelong and well-known resident of Calhoun County. Most people knew him as, "Big Mike". Mr. Crossley owned the Smoking Moose in Anniston for seven years. He was a member of the East Alabama Shrine Club and the Zamora Temple of Birmingham, serving for 20 years and he was also a member of the Alexandria F&AM Masonic Lodge #208, serving as a Mason for 30 years. In his spare time, he loved to buy and sell and tinker and trade his many Corvettes. Mr. Crossley will be deeply missed. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Shirley Hendricks with Alabama Hospice, of Oxford for her devoted and unwavering care.
