A memorial service for Mrs. Myra Dear Ray, 54, will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2016, at the First Baptist Church of Saks with the Reverend John Copeland officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 3 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Mrs. Ray passed away on April 8, 2016 at NE Alabama Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Ray was a graduate of Weaver High School and had retired after 25 years from the YKK Corporation. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Saks where she served in many capacities. She was a member of the Messenger Sunday School Class, taught in Bible School, helped with the Media Ministry and worked in the nursery. Mrs. Ray was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt. Mrs. Ray is preceded in death by her father, Jack P. Dear and a nephew, Justin Dear. Mrs. Ray is survived by her husband, Allen C. Ray, of Saks; a daughter, Maggie Ray and her boyfriend, Carson Sprayberry, of Anniston; a son, Tyler Ray and his wife, Katrina, of Weaver; her mother, Mary Jean Dear, of Anniston; three sisters, Christi Crow and her husband, Frank, of Anniston, Sharon Forsyth and her husband, Ronnie, of Jacksonville, and Tami Dear, of White Plains; a brother, Perry Dear, of Wedowee; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Doris and Clinton Ray, of Anniston; a brother-in-law, Larry Ray and his wife, Andrea, of Oxford; nieces, J.J. Russell, Jessica Kadle, Lisa Borders, Amy Knapp, Emily Hawkins, Brandy Schreiner, MaCall Morris and McKenna Morris; and nephews, Caleb Ray and Colton Ray. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Building Fund at the First Baptist Church of Saks, 4723 Saks Road, Anniston, AL 36206 or the United Cerebral Palsy of East Central Alabama, 415 Castle Avenue, Anniston, AL 36205.
