Funeral service for Myrtis Hughlene Strickland Law, 91, will be Monday, June 1, 2015, 2 p.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church. The Rev. Chris Spurlin, the Rev. Jerry Starling and the Rev. Darrell Paulk will be officiating. Entombment will follow in the Forestlawn Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends this evening from 5 till 7 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home. Mrs. Law passed away on Friday at NHC. Survivors include her sons, Don Law (Pat), Garry Law (Pat) and Randy Law (Carolyn); sisters, Barbara Goodman and Elois Bowen; grandchildren, Brian Law, Kevin Palmer, Benji Law, Cory Palmer, Lindsey Law, Kristina Palmer, Greg Law, Chris Law and Cara Law and 19 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will Brian Law, Kevin Palmer, Benji Law, Cory Palmer, Greg Law and Chris Law. Mrs. Law was a very faithful member of Lakeview Baptist Church for over 80 years where she served as WMU Director . Mrs. Law was inducted in the Maters Games Hall of Fame after receiving several state championships. Mrs. Law enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states and went over seas three times. Her favorite enjoyment was going to all of her grandchildrens sporting events. She was a very devoted Alabama Fan and Braves Fan. Mrs. Law was preceded in death by her parents, Wyatt Ezeakial Strickland and Bertha Daugherty Strickland; husband, Calvin Law; daughter, Beverly Law Palmer; sisters, Frances Denson and June Biederman and a brother, Penny Strickland. The family would like to say a special thank you to NHC and Alacare Hospice for the loving care that was given to her.
