Funeral service for Myrtle Miller, 84, will be on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at noon at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Cedric Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in Eden Hills Cemetery. Mrs. Miller passed away on October 5, 2015 at Jacksonville Health and Rehab. Awake will be this evening 6-7 p.m. in the chapel. Mrs. Miller's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to her service. Mrs. Miller was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church and served as Youth Director, Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent, member and President of Senior, Gospel, and Combined Choir, Deacon's Wife Ministry and General Missionary Society, Youth Director for the Snow Creek District Association, on the Board of Community Development and Enabler and Committee of Unified Leadership. Survivors include her children, Willie J. Smith, Charles (Vicky) Miller, Angela (Tim) Nightingale, Marion (Wilbert) Young, Carolyn (Wilroy) Watkis; 23 grandchildren; sister, Gladys Davis other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Henry Miller; children, Carolyn Minzo, John Elliot, Marie and George.
