Mr. Nat Mitchell Smith, 81, passed away Thursday morning, December 8, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at Williams Funeral Home of Eatonton. Mr. Smith was born in Lincoln. He was the son of the late Joseph Otis Smith and the late Jimmie Ruth Mitchell Smith. Mr. Smith was a jokester who loved to make people laugh. He loved his family and taught them all how to lay flooring. He loved to fish and was looking forward someday to going to "the great fishing hole in the sky". He was a mason and attended services at Lone Oak Baptist Church. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his first wife, Melissa "Sis" Smith, and a grandson, Joey Williford. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Judy Smith, of Eatonton; daughters, Barbara (Ricky) Love, of Jacksonville, Ann (Scott) Allen, of Eastaboga, Linda (Tony) Samples, of Franklin, Ga., and Judy (Chris) Kemp, of Destin, Fla.; son, Doyle (Cher) Smith, of Newborn, Ga.; step-children, Angie (Brett) Witz, of Decatur, Ga., Niki Campbell, of Bethlehem, Ga., and Jason Croy, of Griffin, Ga.; sisters, Lois Wild and Catherine Thomas, both of Alabama; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, and his two "fur babies" Bruster and Bitsey.
