Memorial services for Mrs. Natalie Julia Alexander, 89, of Anniston, will be Monday at 4 p.m. at Gray Brown Service Chapel with Father Bryan Lowe officiating. The family will receive friends starting at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Alexander passed away Friday in Cleburne County. Survivors include daughters, Jean Belton (David), of Virginia, Ellen Cannon (Wayne), of Anniston, Dianne Butler (Al), of Ga.; sons, Joseph Alexander (Roeana), of Hawaii, William Alexander (Mary), Lee Alexander (Yvonne), Michael Alexander (Rebecca), all of Mass.; sisters Florence Simarano, Gilda O'Callahan, Viola Bairos, all of Mass.; brother Dominic Zaino, of Mass.; 22 grandchildren; 38 great- grandchildren; 1 great- great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Alexander is preceded in death by her parents, Bonafacio and Maria Zaino; her son, Paul Alexander; brother, Joseph Zaino; sisters, Mary Campos and Angelica Trudeau. Mrs. Alexander was a native of Mass. and a resident of Calhoun County. She was a member and volunteer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was an avid gardener, swimmer and seamstress. At age 80 and 81 she set the Alabama state record in a 5K race. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cleburne County Nursing Home. Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
