Mr. Patel was united in matrimony to his life partner and best friend Mrs. Rita Patel on January 24, 1978. Survivors include his wife, Rita Patel, of Wedowee; one daughter, Seema Patel, of New Kent, Va.; one son, Vishal (Shal) Patel, of Wedowee; one grandchild, Anyah Patel; four sisters, Vidyaben R. Patel, Kusumben A. Patel, Bhanuben A. Patel, and Jayaben K. Amin; three brothers, Sureshbhai C. Patel, Ashwinbhai C. Patel and Yogeshbhai C. Patel. Mr. Patel was a man of few words; he was incredibly humble and lived a modest life. Mr. Nick was a true gentleman who saw the best in everyone; he never once made a negative comment regarding any situation. The warmth of his boyish smile and deep contagious laugh brought joy into all of our lives. Mr. Nick was a creative, artistic and intelligent chap. He will always be remembered as a loving family man with a pure heart and generous nature. We have never met anyone as brave and as courageous as him, even after such a brutal and tragic accident, he never once complained about being in pain, but instead was more concerned for the wellbeing of his family. He was immensely admired for his strength, resilience and perseverance; he always said 'patience is a virtue'. He will be sorely missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. The family is accepting flowers or, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SIFAT. Online condolences may be expressed at www.benefieldfhwedowee.com.
