Funeral service for Nellie Jo Staples Hall, 68, will be on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at noon at the Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. James E. Edwards officiating. Mrs. Hall remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to her services. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Hall passed away on December 27, 2014. Mrs. Hall graduated from C.W. Hayes High School. She retired in 2005 from Cape Fear Medical Center. She was a member of Living Waters Church of God in Christ. Survivors include her children, Earnest Hall Jr. of Japan, Latanya (Samuel) Farrar, of Atlanta, Ga.; siblings, Mattie P. Cooley, of Washington, D.C., Minister Dorothy M. Moore, of Anniston, Christine McClary, of Kingstree, S.C., Henry Austin Jr., of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Brandy, Bria and Brandon Hall; sister in-laws, Iness Hunter, of Toledo, Ohio, Ida Mary Staples, of Fayetteville, N.C.; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cal Staples Sr. and Rosie Austin Staples, her husband, Earnest Hall Sr.; siblings, Georgia Boyd, Rosa Jackson, Cal Staples Jr. and Felton Hunter.
