A graveside service for Mrs. Nellie Marlene Sprayberry, 83, will be at 12:30 p.m. today at Forestlawn Gardens with Elder Claude McKee officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until noon on Tuesday at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs. Mrs. Sprayberry died on August 17, 2014 at NE Alabama Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Sprayberry was a native of Calhoun County and was of the Baptist faith. She, along with her husband, taught many of their nieces and nephews how to dance. They often referred to her as a Dancing Queen and she was the epitome of the perfect lady to her nieces. They will always cherish the memories she created for them. She was also known as a giver. She was known to stay with many relatives when they were sick or when a child was born. She will be best remembered for her laughter. It's been said that her laugh could light up a room. Mrs. Sprayberry is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Moore; a sister, Edna Moore Brown and her brothers, Haskell T. Moore and William N. Moore. Mrs. Sprayberry is survived by her husband of 64 years, Marion W. Sprayberry, of Oxford; a sister, Barbara Moore Barnett, of Alexander City; a sister-in-law, Ione Page Moore, of Oxford; numerous nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
