Service for Norman E. Jones, 88,will be Sunday, March 05, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Ingram and the Rev. James Cohorn officiating. Burial will follow at Piedmont Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 p.m. until time of service. Mr. Jones passed away Thursday, March 02, 2017, at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Margaret Jones; one daughter, Sharon Reynolds (Chris), of Gadsden; two grandsons, Britton Reynolds and Jordan Reynolds; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Darryl Ginn, Danny Pointer, Terry Gallagher, Paul Harper, Jerry Dempsey and Albert Coble. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clinton Hightower, Pitt Peel, and Doyce White. Mr. Jones was a member of the First Baptist Church of Piedmont, a deacon emeritus and a Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed gardening, working with tools and being outside. He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. and Ethel Jones; brother, James H. Jones.
