Funeral services for Obie English Jr., 77, will be on Monday, July 15, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Russell H. Williams Memorial Chapel with Dr. Randy B. Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Eden Hills Cemetery. Mr. English passed Wednesday, July 10, 2013. Mr. English was a faithful member of St. John United Methodist Church. He attended Calhoun County Training School. He was employed many years for Union Foundry and he later drove taxi for Afro Cab Company. He was also a transportation coordinator for Ft. Benning soldiers and Amtrak Railroad. Survivors include his wife, Mary L. English; children, Romona (Casey) Holloway, of Fairburn, Ga., Teretha (Nathaniel) Maffett, Luretta Little, Sherry Quicksey, Jarvis Gill, all of Anniston; siblings, Nellie Curry, Virginia Wright, Dorothy Wallace, Nora Funderburg, all of Anniston; grandchildren, Lakeisa (Mario) Smith, Nathaniel Maffett, Marcellus Maffett, Christopher Holloway, Dedra Maffett, Ivy Little, Brandon Little, Casey Ahmad Holloway, Arrea Blake, Arryea Blake; great-grandchild, Cassidy Holloway and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Obie English Sr. and Laura G. English; sons, Obie English III and Stanley English; grandson, Stephen Little Jr.; siblings, Walter English, Eunice Young and Frances Reed.
