Funeral service for Oliver Cook, 86, will be Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Bro. Rodney Ragsdale officiating. Burial will follow at Piedmont Memory Gardens. Mr. Cook passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 at his home. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Willie Cook; one daughter, Joy Chapman (Mike) of Glencoe; one son, David Cook (Michelle) of Piedmont; three grandchildren, Leslie Pike, Darrick Chapman and Taylor Cook; and four great grandchildren, Hunter Pike, Madison Pike, Granger Pike and Caleb Pike. Pallbearers will be Jason Marshall, Hunter Pike, Darrick Chapman, Corey Pike, Terry Studdard, and Kevin Spoon. Mr. Cook was a lifelong resident of Piedmont and was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. He was a U.S.Army veteran and retired from the Anniston Army Depot. He loved his family and one of his greatest pleasures was farming. Mr. Cook was preceded in death by a son, Grant Cook, a grandson, Caden Cook and his parents, Lee and Dema Cook.
