Funeral service for Oliver Faye Williams, 85, will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2015, at 2 p.m. from the First Baptist Church of Wedowee with the Rev. Cade Farris officiating. Burial will follow at the Wedowee Masonic Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends tonight at the funeral home from 5 - 8 p.m. Mr. Williams will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to service beginning on Sunday. Mr. Williams passed away Friday, April 24, 2015, at Wedowee Hospital. Survivors include one daughter, Lesia W. Waldrep (husband, Barry), of LaGrange, Ga.; one son, Douglas O. Williams (wife, Kira), of Wedowee; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one brother, Vinson R. Williams of LaGrange, Ga. A Randolph County native, Mr. Williams was born on December 24, 1929, the son of Sanford O. and Lizzie Lou Bradley Williams. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wedowee, a United States Army veteran of the Korean War and was the owner/operator of Williams Barber Shop for 49 years. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dean Williams and one brother, Johnny Williams.
